Nano and Herman

Today Jasper and I took Nano to the vet to get neutered. He weighed 45.5 pounds! He's just a little over 6 months old. Jasper was having a good time at the office sitting on bags of dog food, and he didn't want to leave. When we finally did get in the truck, Jasper looked at me with a worried expression and said, "Where Nano?" I told him Nano had to stay and play with the doctor for a while and we'd pick him up later.

Herman has been a little ornery lately. He is getting so fat (around 25 pounds) that he doesn't fit through his cat doors. We expanded the one to his litter box and have just been leaving the door to the kitchen propped open for him. He had gotten a big mat of fur from rubbing on the cat doors, and Josh trimmed it a few weeks ago. He accidentally cut the skin just a little bit, and Herman went nuts for about a day. Since then he's had a few accidents on the carpet. We got the carpets cleaned, and the smell mostly came out of the carpet, but the rug had to be thrown out. We're hoping he'll behave himself! We're going to try out some super cat odor eliminator that Jack and Judy got at a pet expo, so hopefully that'll do the trick.

Jasper loves to chase Herman around, sometimes pulling his tail, sometimes hugging him. It's so funny when Jasper starts squealing and running after him. Jasper calls all tennis balls 'Nano balls' since Nano loves to play with them.
